Jacoby Jones is a former American football wide receiver and return specialist who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 11 seasons. He was born on July 11, 1984, in New Orleans, Louisiana. Jones attended East St. John High School in Reserve, Louisiana, where he played football and track and field. He was a standout athlete in both sports, earning all-state honors in football and track and field.
After graduating from high school, Jones attended Lane College, a historically black college in Jackson, Tennessee. He played football for the Dragons and was a three-time All-Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) selection. In 2006, he was named the SIAC Offensive Player of the Year.
Jones was drafted by the Houston Texans in the third round of the 2007 NFL Draft. He played for the Texans for four seasons, primarily as a return specialist. In 2011, he signed with the Baltimore Ravens, where he spent the next four seasons. With the Ravens, Jones won two Super Bowls (XLVII and XLVIII) and was named to the Pro Bowl three times.
In 2015, Jones signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers, where he played for two seasons. He retired from the NFL after the 2016 season.
